Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Vereeniging Road in Alrode, Alberton.
Reports indicate that two taxis and a car were involved in a collision.
On assessment, medics found that one person from the car had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Another ten people sustained moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to the hospital for further care.
