Nineteen people injured in six-vehicle crash on Main Reef Road and Commando Roads in Johannesburg

Nineteen people were involved in a collision when a truck crashed into six vehicles at the corners of Main Reef and Commando Roads in Johannesburg this evening.

Shortly before 5pm, paramedics from ER24 and several other services arrived on the scene where they found the truck, a taxi and several light motor vehicles with damage. It is believed from bystanders that the truck apparently crashed into the taxi pushing it into several vehicles near the intersection. Nineteen people were assessed by paramedics on scene. All of the injured, majority from the taxi, were found with minor injuries. Sixteen people were later transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care.

Fortunately, no one sustained any serious or critical injuries in the collision. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause.
