Members of the Gauteng Traffic Police and Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (EC), in collaboration with Cartrack and Rentrak, conducted vehicle recovery operations during ongoing operations around Ekurhuleni.
The following vehicles were recovered:
• A VW Citi Golf reported stolen in Springs was recovered at 24th Road, Withok Estate in Brakpan. The vehicle was found inside a yard together with a suspect.
• A VW Polo TSI reported stolen in Springs was recovered on Enstra Road near the cemetery.
• An NP200 Nissan that was hijacked in Brakpan was recovered in Tsakane Extension 21.
• Officers also received information regarding three different trucks that were hijacked while transporting rolled steel.
One of the trucks was traced to Jet Park, Boksburg on Yaldwin Road, abandoned without its trailer. The other two trucks were later recovered abandoned in Germiston Extension 9 on Richard Street, also without their trailers.
