Police in Mpumalanga province is working diligently to curb the proliferation of all types of drugs. Recently a total of four suspects aged between 23 and 38 were arrested in two separate incidents. Three were nabbed in Chrissiesmeer near Ermelo with six bags of dagga whilst another was caught in possession of suspected Heroin in Hazyview in November 2022.
The report indicates that information regarding a person in possession of suspected drugs was brought by the intelligence structure of the police and it led to the arrest of the suspect in Hazyview. A team consisting of members from Tactical Response Team (TRT) in Pienaar, Provincial Crime Intelligence Gathering, and their counterparts from the Vehicle Investigation Section operationalised the information.
