Media briefing following incidents of blockade of national roads by truck drivers

The Minister of Transport, Mr. Fikile Mbalula will address a media briefing following incidents of blockade of national roads by truck drivers protesting the use of foreign national by employers to drive trucks on South African roads and other related issues.

The Ministers of Transport and Employment & Labour intervened in the Eastern Cape protest, resulting in the ending of the blockade of the N9 and N10 national roads. A similar blockade was reported on the N3 Toll Route near Montrose in the Free State on 26 October 2021.

The Minister will be joined by the Departments of Employment & Labour and Home Affairs at the briefing.
