MEC Radzilani is worried with the high number of pedestrian fatalities on the provincial roads

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani, has expressed serious concern with the high number of pedestrians who have died on the Provincial roads, during the Easter Long Weekend.

Out of all fatalities that have been recorded, thus far, Majority are pedestrians who have been hit by vehicles while crossing the road.

The MEC has also raised a concern, on the number of ‘hit and runs’, that have been recorded in most of these pedestrian fatalities.
“We have noted with a great sense of worry, numerous incidents, where motorists tend to drive away, after being involved in fatalities that include pedestrians. This criminal act defeats the ends of justice, and makes it difficult for the families of the victims to find closure”, said MEC Radzilani.

MEC Radzilani has also called upon motorists, to exercise caution on the roads, as they will be returning back to their various destinations. Traffic volumes are expected to reach their peaks,…
