MEC for Transport conducted a contractor handover worth R329 million in the uPhongolo Local Municipality

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka today conducted a contractor handover of Main Road 52/3 in ward 1, Petergate Sports Field, uPhongolo Local Municipality.

Main Road P52/3 is a feeder road to the National Road.

It's resurfacing at a cost of over R329 million will improve accesibility thus benefitting thousands of residents and businesses within the Nongoma, uPhongolo and surrounding areas.

The development of this road will also improve road safety in the area.

Additionally, the upgraded road will help to boost the local economy by making it easier for people to travel to and from the area.

Premier Dube-Ncube and MEC Hlomuka later officially handed over the contractor and engaged the community of ward 1 in Petergate Sports Field, uPhongolo Local Municipality….
