A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured this afternoon when he was knocked over by a taxi at the Hendrik Potgieter and Van Der Kloof Road intersection in Ruimsig, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the taxi in the left-hand lane while the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was found lying in the emergency lane.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Laratong Provincial Hospital for urgent treatment.
The driver of the taxi escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
