Llandudno Ravine Rescue

Dedicated teams of volunteers and professionals from Wilderness Search And Rescue WSAR Western Cape responded to Suikerbossie Restaurant & Estate on Saturday afternoon, after a hiker fell while descending Llandudno Ravine above Hout Bay.

The group of eight hikers started up Corridor Ravine earlier on Saturday morning, intending to walk across the Twelve Apostles and descend to Suikerbossie Restaurant & Estate.
Shortly after starting their descent down Llandudno Ravine, a 47-year-old hiker stepped awkwardly and tumbled a short way down the trail.

Realising that she was injured and unable to proceed, the group called the emergency contact number – 021 937 0300.

A hasty team was immediately dispatched to locate the fallen hiker.

Once the rescuers reached the group of hikers, a decision was taken to fly her from the mountain.
