Launch of the rehabilitation of roads in the Greater Kokstad Local Municipality

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka, today launched the rehabilitation of P601/1 and P603 in ward 02, Greater Kokstad Local Municipality.

Road P603 serves as a feeder to four local schools and connects with other amenities such as clinics and taxi ranks.

The local schools that will benefit from this rehabilitation include Kransdraay High School, Mbizana, and Makhoba Primary School.

The launch for these rehabilitation is part of the province's drive to revive the provincial road network, create jobs, and empower emerging contracts.

The cost for both these rehabilitation programmes are estimated to be more than R500 million.

MEC Hlomuka then proceeded to Franklin Community Hall where he officially unveiled both contractor for roads P601/1 and P603 and also engaged the community….
