Midlands EMS Howick crews were dispatched to the R103 in Lions River for a motor vehicle accident.
On arrival, it was found that a taxi and bakkie were involved in a head-on collision.
One patient was found to be in critical condition, requiring urgent advanced life support treatment before being transported to a Level 1 trauma hospital. A further three other people
sustained moderate injuries and were also treated on scene before being transported to various hospitals for further care.
Authorities were in attendance.
