Gauteng: Six injured when taxi crashes into tree.

Gauteng: At 00H30 Saturday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R114 close to Heron Bridge College in Randburg.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control crashing into a tree.

Six occupants from the mini-bus taxi sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
The patients were trapped in the taxi and required specialised equipment to cut them free.

Due to the seriousness of one of the patients a medical helicopter was called upon to airlift the  him to hospital.

Once the other patients were stabilised they were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.
