The Gauteng Department of Community Safety (GDCS), together with the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), call on all parents, guardians and caregivers to prioritise the safety and well-being of children during the upcoming winter school holidays.
Public schools across Gauteng will close from Friday, 26 June 2026 until Tuesday 21 July 2026.
Children are likely to spend more time outdoors, travelling, visiting friends and relatives, or engaging in recreational activities during this time.
Therefore, Gauteng Community Safety and Education departments urge parents and caregivers to remain vigilant and take practical measures to ensure that their children are protected and safe throughout the entirety of these holidays.
