Female airlifted following M7 motorcycle collision

A forty-nine-year-old female has suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle crash on the M7 near Queensburgh earlier.

Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived on the scene to find a motorcycle that had lost control on the M7 near the Bellville Road area, two occupants a male and female, were found to have suffered serious injuries.

Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize them on scene and the assistance of an aeromedical helicopter was called for to airlift the female to a specialist facility, whilst the man was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.

The cause of the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation….
