On Friday afternoon Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on the N1 near the New Road Bridge.
On arrival on scene two occupants of a light motor vehicle were found entrapped in the wreckage with serious injuries.
Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilize them whilst the Jaws-of-life were used to cut them free.
A decision was made to airlift a female motorist to a specialist facility for the definitive care that she required.
