Earlier Friday morning, Mi7 National Group's Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of a Motor Vehicle Accident on the N3 near Scottsville.
Mi7 medics found that two bakkies had collided, causing one to overturn. Still trapped inside the overturned wreckage was an elderly couple.
The 79-year-old man had no pulse, and Mi7 medics worked quickly to extricate him from the wreckage before administering a full Advanced Life Support Resuscitation. These efforts helped get his heart beating again, and he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The woman was also extricated from the wreckage and had sustained moderate injuries. She was taken to hospital by another service provider.
