Eight killed in a horror crash along the D3260 road towards Seloane in Phalaborwa Municipality.

Eight people were confirmed dead, while others are seriously injured in an accident involving a stuck Nissan bakkie carrying thirteen people, that was hit by an Isuzu heavy motor vehicle and a Toyota Quantum minibus traveling the opposite
direction along the D3260 road towards Seloane in Phalaborwa Municipality.

Seven people died on the spot, and one died on the way to hospital. Other injured people were taken to Maphutha Malatji hospital in Namakgale.

Speeding and reckless driving are cited as possible causes for the accident. Traffic officials and the police are still on scene.

The road is closed until the finalization of forensic issues. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, and drive with caution.
