Two suspects, aged between 24 and 29 years, will appear in the Eastern Cape Alice Magistrate’s court after their arrest by the Hawks Kidnapping Task Team on Thursday, 20 April 2023 for a charge of kidnapping.
It is alleged that on Friday, 14 April 2023 the victim was kidnapped by four suspects at gunpoint at the gate of his residential place in Alice. The victim was rescued on Monday, 17 April 2023 but the suspects were still at large.
On Thursday, 20 April 2023, the information received led the Hawk’s kidnapping team to arrest two suspects who were driving a silver grey polo with false registration number plates. The suspects will appear in the Eastern Cape Alice Magistrate’s court on Monday, 24 April 2023. More arrests are imminent.
