This morning, a 52-year-old man was killed when his light motor vehicle crashed into a perimeter wall on a farm off the R40, approximately 15km outside Barberton.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after two pedestrians came across the incident.
On arrival at 06h06, ER24 paramedics found a light motor vehicle smashed against a large stone wall. A male driver was found lying motionless in the driver's seat.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained fatal injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
