Driver Arrested After Killing Minor Pedestrian: Cottonlands – KZN

A man who fled the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of a 7-year-old grade 1 learner was arrested by Reaction Officers in Cottonlands – KZN a short while ago (Monday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) attending to a hit and run accident in Nqwayini – KZN (picture 7) were informed by witnesses that a yellow Renault Kwid was involved in the incident. It was later established that the sought after vehicle was a Renault Clio.

Reaction Officers received information that the driver was travelling on unpaved roads through Ndwedwe – KZN in an attempt to evade arrest. Officers on scene circulated the information via two way radio when RUSA

Members from Verulam – KZN converged on Vincent Dickenson Road and spotted the Renault Clio exiting a sugar cane plantation. Reaction Officers had to forcefully stop the vehicle after the driver attempted to make a getaway. He was immediately placed under arrest. Traces of the child’s blood was located on the bonnet….
