Deceased airlifted from ravine in Osindisweni

The body of a 48-year-old man found on a tree in a river was airlifted by the RUSA Robinson R44 Helicopter earlier today.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance reporting that the body of a man that was missing since 19:30 on Monday night was found stuck on a tree in a river.

Reaction Officers & Paramedics were dispatched to Osindsweni approx four (4) kilometers from the Osindisweni Government Hospital (OGH). Upon arrival, the South African Police Services (SAPS) from Verulam and Paramedics from Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) were in attendance. The scene could not immediately be located due to inaccessible terrain in a forest alongside a river.

The RUSA Aircraft was called out to assist and the Pilot & female Helicopter Crew lifted off from the Helipad and within 8 minutes located the scene in a dense forest. A clear area was located on the river bank and the Pilot executed a confined landing. The discovery was relayed to the Rescue…
