The Arrive Alive Website would like to confirm that the bus driver who was filmed operating his phone has been dismissed with immediate effect!
On the 21st of December we received the following confirmation:
"Just an update on this incident for you.
The hearing was conducted yesterday and the chairperson will advise in the coming days the outcome.
Until such time, the driver will continue to be suspended from work duties."
Earlier today we also received confirmation of the outcome of the disciplinary hearing:
"With regards to the Driver that was filmed texting while driving, the outcome of his disciplinary was an immediate dismissal in line with our policy regarding this type of offence.
At Greyhound/Citiliner, the safety of our passengers is a priority for us and appreciate you bringing this to our attention."
We would like to acknowledge both the passenger who alerted us to the incident as well as the company for their professional response to the incident!
