CERT volunteers received a call for assistance from IPSS Medical Rescue for a serious collision on the R102 between king shaka airport and Tongaat.
CERT volunteers were dispatched and upon arrival found absolute carnage. A total of 3 vehicles were involved leaving multiple people injured ranging from serious to minor. 2 patients were serious and were transported to the hospital for further care under Advanced Life Support supervision. 1 patient sustained minor injuries and 1 patient was in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of Paramedics he was unfortunately declared deceased by paramedics. The exact cause of the accident is unknown and will be investigated by the SAPS.
