Body of kidnapped Electrical Engineering Lecturer of MUT found

The body of 61-year-old Chanlall Dwarika also known as Shan was discovered in Inanda – KZN a short while ago (Saturday).

Dwarika was kidnapped by three men on Sunday (28/05/2023) on Crow Road in Sea Cow Lake, Durban – KZN. The Electrical Engineering Lecturer from Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) rented out a property in the area. CCTV footage captured on the day of the incident showed three (3) men forcing the elderly male into the rear of his black Honda CRV. He was not seen or heard off since.

On Monday (29/05/2034), Dwarika’s family reported him missing to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and the Greenwood Park SAPS. Reaction Officers and Detectives followed up several leads which resulted in a person of interest in the case being arrested at an informal area in Crow Place in Sea Cow Lake – KZN on Wednesday (picture 2).
