A baby girl is in critical condition and her mother has suffered serious injuries after their light motor vehicle collided with a bakkie on the R550 outside Nigel in the east of the Gauteng province this morning.
ER24 paramedics were on the scene at 06:17 along with the Fire Department, the Metro Police, and the SAPS. The baby girl was found ejected from the vehicle and lying on the ground in a critical condition and the mother was entrapped in the vehicle in a serious condition. Both were treated with Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise their conditions. The Fire Department extracted the mother from the wreck and then both were transported to the hospital by GPG for further treatment.
Two men from the bakkie were found to have suffered minor injuries and were treated and transported to the hospital by ER24. SAPS were on scene as stated for further investigations….
