At least 18 Injured in Benoni taxi crash

At 16H35 Tuesday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the M45 Great North Road in Brentwood Park AH, Benoni.
Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in a collision.
A total of Eighteen people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
One of the patients a 6-year-old boy was flung from the taxi and was found to be in a critical condition.
Due to the seriousness of his injuries the Netcare 1 Specialised Helicopter Air Ambulance was called to airlift the child to hospital.
All the patients were treated on scene and transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further assessment and care.
All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.
