At least 15 injured after taxi and vehicle collide on the R23 just outside of Heidelberg in Gauteng

At least 15 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided on the R23 just outside of Heidelberg in Gauteng this afternoon.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 16H00, most of the patients were found outside of the taxi. Upon further assessment, paramedics found a patient who sustained serious injuries. The patient was already being treated in the back of the provincial ambulance. 
ER24 transported five people who sustained minor injuries to hospital. The rest of the patients were transported to hospital by various other medical services on the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
