Approximately 15 to 20 people injured in taxi collision on the R55 in Olievenhoutbosch

Approximately 15 to 20 people sustained serious injuries after a taxi collided head-on with a SUV on the R55 in Olievenhoutbosch this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene around 10h17 and found that a man was still entrapped in the taxi. Various emergency services were on scene treating the patients at the time.

Two children, believed to be a 2-year-old and 1-year-old, were among those who were injured in the collision.

ER24 treated and transported the 2-year-old child, who was in a critical condition, to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The patients were transported to approximately four different hospitals in the area by the different emergency services on scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for investigations.
