A Taxi driver freed using jaws of life on Goodwood road in Westmead

This morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Goodwood road in Westmead.

Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in a collision.

Upon arrival, another private ambulance service was already in attendance treating the patient.

The driver of the taxi, an adult male was the only occupant of the LMV and sustained lower limb injuries.

The " Jaws of Life" were used to free the trapped patient from the taxi.

The patient was treated on scene and transported by private ambulance to a hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.
