A joint intelligence-driven operation around Botshabelo yielded success as police confiscated drugs, liquor and apprehended two suspects.
It was on Monday 22 May 2023 at about 12:00 when a joint operation consisting of Botshabelo Crime Prevention, Selosesha Crime Intelligence and Bloemfontein Public Order Police Task Team operated around Botshabelo. Two search warrants were issued for two different addresses around Botshabelo.
The operation commenced at a certain house in Section C1. Police found liquor amounting to R 90 000-00 and confiscated it. The said house was allegedly operating as an illegal shebeen. Police further found dagga and crystal meth worth R 45 000-00. A 37-year-old was apprehended for dealing in drugs.
The team headed to the second house in Section D. Liquor amounting to R 40 000-00 was also confiscated as a 45-year-old was allegedly operating an illegal shebeen. Police further confiscated dagga.
