A Collision between a light motor vehicle and taxi at the Snel and Scott Road intersection in Rustenburg North

Two children have been killed and eleven other people injured following a collision between a light motor vehicle and taxi at the Snel and Scott Road intersection in Rustenburg North.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find a taxi lying on its side on the side of the road. A light motor vehicle had come to a stop against a concrete fence a few metres away. Numerous children were found lying around the taxi.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the bodies of two children, believed to be aged between 6 and 8, lying near the taxi. Assessments showed that both children had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

Eleven other patients were found at the scene, including several children. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that they had sustained moderate injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
