A Bus collision leaves two dead, 29 injured on the N12 outside of Fochville

Two people were killed and 29 others injured last night following a collision between a bus, truck and light motor vehicle on the N12 outside of Fochville.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 19h00 to find the truck and light motor vehicle in the left-hand lane of the road while the bus had veered off to the side of the road. Numerous people were found either walking or lying around on the scene.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a man and woman lying inside the light motor vehicle. Both patients had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned and they were declared dead.

29 other patients were assessed by paramedics on the scene. Assessments showed that the injuries sustained ranged from minor to critical.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided the seriously and critically injured patients with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, one critically injured patients were airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to a nearby hospital. The remaining patients were transported by ambulances to nearby hospitals.

The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
