300 Young people have been recruited through district municipalities into the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety (DTCS)'s Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) – Road Safety Ambassador Programme as Point Duty Officers.
This is a 24 monthly Programme that will see them placed at hazardous locations and accident hotspots throughout the province from the 1st of July 2023.
The youth recruits are currently undergoing training at the Limpopo Traffic Training College in Thulamela local municipality. Traffic Law Enforcement and Road Safety in the Districts will facilitate and monitor their practical training and daily operations.
The DTCS Safety Promotion- EPWP Provincial Coordination team facilitated the recruitment of these young people, training with the traffic college and placements within the Districts in the Department.
