17 People died in two separate accidents in KZN

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting MEC for Transport, Community Safety, and Liaison, Jomo Sibiya to visit the scene of the gruesome accident that happened last night on the R617 near Mpophomeni. Reports suggest that 11 people including a police officer perished on the scene. The deceased involved ten occupants of a minibus taxi and one Police Officer who was directing the traffic.

Just last night, the province lost at least 17 people in two separate accidents. The other accident occurred on the N11 near Dundee where a total of six people died.

MEC Sibiya will visit the area to get a full report from the Police and also inspect the scene.
