16 Injured In Taxi crash on the R102 near the King Shaka International Airport

Fifteen (15) passengers and a driver of a white Toyota Quantum minibus taxi were injured when the vehicle overturned on the R102 Northbound lane near King Shaka International Airport.

Paramedics & Reaction Officers from Reaction Unit South Africa arrived on the scene at 11:44 (Monday) and found the vehicle lying on a grass strip between the north & south lanes. Four passengers were critically injured & eleven others suffered moderate to mild injuries. Paramedics from several services converged on the scene & assisted in transporting the injured to various Hospital in the surrounding areas.

According to the 32 year old driver, he was traveling from Inanda to Tongaat in the fulled laden taxi when the rear left (picture 1) tyre burst causing the vehicle to overturn.
