Sixteen people were left injured following a single taxi rollover on the R501 just outside out of Carletonville last night.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 20H00 where they found another medical service already in attendance. Upon further assessment, paramedics found that most of the patients were seated at the scene. Paramedics also found a 2-year-old girl seated in her mother's lap. Paramedics found that the little girl sustained serious injuries and she was airlifted to hospital by medical helicopter for further medical care.
Fifteen others sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to hospital by ER24 and various other medical services on the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
