15 Injured in Taxi crash Pinetown

Fifteen people have been injured after a taxi and a vehicle collided on the Dinkelman Highway before Claremont in Pinetown on Sunday evening just after 8pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two badly damaged vehicles in the roadway. A fully loaded taxi had collided into a vehicle, the vehicle then collided into the concrete barrier on the roadside. Three occupants of the vehicle had sustained serious injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise them on the scene, twelve occupants from the taxi had also sustained various injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Once all the injured had been stabilised they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
