Two people were injured following a head-on collision on Umdloti Beach Road near Waterloo last night.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by passing motorists and pedestrians requesting assistance for the injured. Upon arrival a Toyota Yaris was found to have collided into a Toyota Hiace taxi.
According to the driver of the Toyota Yaris he was travelling from Verulam towards Waterloo when he allegedly attempted to avoid a child who was crossing the road. He veered into the oncoming lane and collided head on into the taxi which did not have any passengers at the time.
The driver of the taxi and a passenger in the Toyota Yaris sustained moderate injuries and had to be transported to Osindisweni Hospital by ambulance.
