Eight persons sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious after the mini-bus they were travelling in collided with the back of a heavy goods truck on the N8 close to Mandela View early yesterday evening.
The driver of the vehicle had to be freed from the wreckage using jaws of life. All patients were treated on scene for their injuries before being transported to hospital by various services.
Traffic in the area was severely affected for approximately 3 hours whilst clean-up operations were in progress.
