A man sustained serious injuries in a collision between a taxi and a bakkie on the corner of Brixton Road and Caroline Street in Brixton this afternoon.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 17H00, they found a male taxi driver entrapped in the taxi. The fire brigade and ER24 had to extricate the man using the jaws of life. Upon further assessment, it was found that the man sustained serious injuries.
Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.
The driver of the bakkie did not sustain any injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
