A 17-year-old female was found deceased at her residence in Tongaat – KZN this morning (Tuesday, 09/06/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched at approximately 10:16 after the Tongaat Operations Centre received information regarding an apparent suicide.
On arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed family members. They were informed that the teenager had been experiencing personal difficulties. A relative stated that he conducted a welfare check on the teenager and discovered her hanging in her bedroom. Paramedics from a private ambulance service declared the 17 year old deceased on scene.
A letter was reportedly found at the residence, however its contents were not immediately established….
