PVES volunteers responded to reports of an explosion inside a flat on the 9th floor of a residential building in Meyerspark.
Upon arrival, extensive damage to the unit was noted. Shrapnel from a gas cylinder was observed on scene, and the force of the explosion caused significant damage within the flat, including damage to doors, cupboards, and windows. Several neighbouring units also sustained damage, with windows shattered by the blast.
Several patients were assessed and treated for the effects of dust and debris inhalation. Fortunately, no patients were found to have sustained serious injuries.
The scene was managed by the responding emergency services while further assessments were conducted.
