PVES practitioners and Old Pretoria East responders attended the scene of a pedestrian–vehicle accident while awaiting the arrival of Gauteng Emergency Services.
Upon arrival, an off-duty ALS practitioner had already immobilized the patient’s open (compound) tibia-fibula fracture.
Fortunately, the pedestrian had not sustained any other serious injuries. Shortly thereafter, ER24 arrived with an ambulance and transported the patient to hospital for further treatment.
