MEC Diale-Tlabela welcomes intensified law enforcement results as over 100 minibuses are discontinued

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela has welcomed the outcomes of intensified road safety and law enforcement operations conducted by the Gauteng Transport Inspectorate (GTI) in collaboration with the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), describing the results as a clear demonstration of government’s commitment to safer roads and law enforcement across the province.

The operations form part of a coordinated strategy aimed at curbing lawlessness, combating criminal activity, and improving compliance with traffic legislation, particularly within the public transport sector.During the week of 11–17 May 2026, intensified enforcement operations were conducted across the Cities of Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Ekurhuleni.

The operations strategically targeted major public transport corridors identified as high-risk areas for non-compliance and road safety violations.As a result of the operations:More than one hundred (100) minibuses were discontinued…
