One (1) person was killed and several others sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision on Oakford Road in Oakford – KZN this morning (Saturday, 16/05/2026).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a member of the public requesting urgent assistance after the collision was reported at approximately 04:33.
On arrival, Reaction Officers found a white VW Polo and a white Nissan 1400 that had been involved in a head-on collision. The driver of the VW Polo informed Officers that he had been travelling towards Redcliffe – KZN when the Nissan 1400, travelling in the opposite direction, collided into the front right side of his vehicle.
The impact caused the Nissan 1400 to lose control and plunge down an embankment into dense bushes. The bakkie was extensively damaged during the crash.
The VW Polo was occupied by one (1) male driver who was travelling alone. The Nissan 1400 was transporting six (6) occupants comprising five (5) males and one (1) female….
