Approximately 49 people were left injured this afternoon when a bus collided into the side of another bus on the R617 in Mpophomeni, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene to find both buses in the middle of the intersection. The passengers had already climbed out of the two vehicles and were found walking around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that approximately 49 patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
