YBIKE teams up with the Fedhealth MTB Challenge

NEWSPORT MEDIA

Franschhoek – Junior MTB enthusiasts will be able to ‘test their balance’ with YBIKE at the 3rd annual Fedhealth Kids MTB Events that will take place at the picturesque Boschendal Wine Estate on Saturday, 16 September 2017.

According to Stephen Wiggill of YBIKE South Africa, YBIKEs provide children with the opportunity to learn the art of balance.  “They also help with coordination and confidence, while developing the gross motor skills,” says Wiggill.  “We are passionate about getting children outdoors.  By being at events like the Fedhealth MTB Challenge we can show parents the benefits of starting their children on balance bikes from a young age.  We’ve found that children who’ve had balance bikes progress to pedal bikes with ease.”

“We love that the Fedhealth MTB Challenge has an event just for the children,” continues Wiggill.  “They are the future of mountain biking.  By introducing them to the sport at an early age you foster a love and passion for mountain biking.  On event day YBIKE will have a fun and challenging Balance Bike Obstacle Course designed to replicate what you would find out on the MTB trails.  Obstacles will include:  a rock garden, balance beam and see-saw to mention just a few.  The obstacles are fun, but functional as they hone the child’s skill and overall control of the bike.”

The YBIKE Obstacle Course will be open to all children on Saturday, 16 September 2017 from 09:00 – 14:00 and on Sunday, 17 September 2017 from 08:00 – 14:00.  There are YBIKES for children aged 9 months to 5 years.  The YBIKE scooter range starts at 2 years of age and goes up to adults.
