Stellenbosch based personal trainer, running coach and formidable trail runner, Chantel Nienaber is keeping things interesting by adding the Origin Of Trails Trail Run to the training schedule of her client base.

“I love being out in nature,” admits Nienaber.  “It allows me to feel wild and free.  The Origin Of Trails Trail Run will take place on the same trails that I run on every week with my running group, ‘Ladies Running Wild’.  I can’t think of a better way to start our year end party than to be running and/or walking the Origin Of Trails Trail Run.  Afterwards we’ll have a pool party to celebrate another year of fitness and good health.  I am happy to say that this time round I won’t be racing, but will rather be enjoying the trails with likeminded people.”

Graeme Malcolm (Stellenbosch), Nick Spotswood (Stellenbosch) and Marisa Agnello (Cape Town) have eagerly accepted their coach’s challenge.

“Trail running allows me to explore the beautiful mountains around Stellenbosch with family and friends, while at the same time getting fit,” says Malcolm.  “I am looking forward to running the trails with my running group. We spend a lot of time training on these trails and it will be great to do the Origin Of Trails Trail Run together. The route looks awesome and it promises to be a great day out.”

“Being outdoors on the trails is far more diverse and interesting than road running,” says Spotswood.  “I am looking forward to the fun of being outdoors and running with mates.  The scenery is amongst the best in the world.  Possessing local knowledge of the terrain will definitely count in my favor.  I can’t wait to experience the challenge of the race.”

“I used to be more of a roadie, before Chantel introduced me to the wonders of trail running,” admits Agnello.  “I have never looked back.  Trail running is always a challenging adventure, not knowing what mountain you have to climb next.  Also you get to see and experience the most beautiful scenery.  Nothing beats the feeling of running as fast as you can down a single track!  I can’t wait to be part of the vibe at the Origin Of Trails Trail Run.  Our whole running group will be taking part as our official year end function, just adding to the fun!”
