Durban – Durbanites will be granted a unique opportunity to ‘Beat Bolt’ at the inaugural FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday, 08 October 2017.
With the introduction of a fast, flat route, an impressive R212 000 prize purse and the announcement of an elite local and international field of runners, event organisers are confident that the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN will be able to claim the title of ‘fastest 10km in the world’.
“As speed will be a definite factor at the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN in October, we’re excited to play our part by hosting an action packed PUMA ‘Beat Bolt’ on route competition,” says Brett Bellinger, Marketing Director of PUMA South Africa. “The activation will be a #ForeverFaster 100m sprint that will be timed. The runner (male and female) to clock the fastest time over 100m will take home a PUMA shopping voucher to the value of R10 000. The competition is a fun way to generate additional hype on route while encouraging both runner and spectator interaction. We’d like to challenge all FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN entrants to #BeatBolt at what will hopefully be the ‘fastest 10km in the world’.”
PUMA’s ‘Beat Bolt’ activation will be in the region of the 7 – 9km mark. A commentator will be stationed +-50m ahead of the activation to motivate runners to make this the fastest 100m of their lives. All runners will be notified of their 100m sprint times via sms after the race.
Additional PUMA Prizes up for grabs: FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN participants that secure the following sprint times will qualify for discount vouchers instore at PUMA:
- Under 15 seconds for 100m: 30% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
- Under 20 seconds for 100m: 20% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
- Under 25 seconds for 100m: 15% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
