Drum Café Cape Town will be seen in action for the 4th consecutive year entertaining entrants (and spectators) on- route at the Cape’s premier 12km road race, the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN on Sunday, 19 May 2019.

Founded in 1997, Drum Café consists of drummers, marimba players, dancers and singers all performing with traditional African instruments and style.

“Drum Café focusses on uplifting traditional drumming and rhythm,” says Sue Schlesinger, Drum Café Manager.  “We are proud to be associated with the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN. The event allows us to celebrate with pride in our Mother City. The atmosphere at last year’s event was great, there was a wonderful spirit. The run gives Drum Café an opportunity to further cement our dedication to the City of Cape Town with a pride-filled traditional performance.”

“The Drum Café team loves to see the joyful reactions of the runners and spectators,” continues Schlesinger.  “This always makes for an exciting experience for us. Runners and spectators can look forward to seeing a professional traditional drumming performance filled with colour, showmanship and infectious African rhythm. We will add an African flavour to the event by means of our clothing and traditional musical elements. Drum Café promises to bring its unique blend of flair, excitement and City Pride.”
